Education Abroad

Study Abroad

Education or Study Abroad: “Study (or Education) Abroad” refers to academic opportunities for students to learn while in another country, immersed in the culture and language of that region. Education abroad provides students with opportunities to improve their abilities to work productively within other cultures, to look at concepts through a different lens, and to expand their worldview through international travel. In the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), students have opportunities to examine health care systems and provision of social services through unique study abroad opportunities. In the recent past, CHHS has offered short-term faculty-led study abroad courses in diverse countries, including Mexico, Cuba, India, Malawi, Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Ireland and Tanzania. Study abroad opportunities, usually held over Spring Recess or during the summer semester, expand CHHS students’ global reach by leveraging faculty members’ international connections and research collaborations.
